Here at Lovell’s Nursery, we offer a wide range of plants to compliment your garden or landscape and address a variety of needs and common issues. Whether you are looking to beatify your indoor or outdoor space, add privacy, or grow your own foods, we have the plants you need to accomplish your goals.

Native plants are those found naturally in our region. These plants are adapted to grow well in our local environment. We carry a wide selection of plants native to Maryland, the mid-Atlantic Region, and the Northeastern United States.

We continually update our selection of plants producing vegetables, fruits, & herbs as the seasons change. At various times of the year, we carry everything from bulbs and seeds to plants, shrubs, and trees in a number of tasty varieties.   

Herbs, Fruits, and Veggies

We carry a variety of houseplants to bring the outdoors in. Houseplants help clean your indoor air by exchanging carbon dioxide for fresh oxygen and removing dust and pollutants. Houseplants have also been shown to help increase your focus and reduce stress.

In late spring and through the summer we carry a variety of plants for use in and around ponds. These aquatic plants can float or be submerged and often add beauty and oxygen to ponds. In addition, we do stock tadpoles and snails at certain points in the season and a selection of pond care products.

As the seasons change, we carry a variety of specialty bulbs and plants. Lush and exotic topicals in spring and summer; mums, pumpkins and spring-flowering bulbs for planting in the fall; poinsettias, paperwhites, and cut Christmas trees, wreaths, and greens in late fall & early winter.

We know it takes more than plants to make a landscape or garden thrive and shine. We provide a range of hard goods for all your landscaping and gardening needs. From tools and materials to decorations that make your space unique, you can find it all at Lovell’s Nursery.

We carry a variety of pots & containers in a range of styles, colors, and sizes. We have everything from small specialty pots to add personality and pizzaz to your indoor space to oversized pots to accentuate your front porch or garden space. Small plants in a fun decorative pot make an excellent personalized gift.

Further elevate your indoor and outdoor plant space with our range of decorative items such as garden flags, gazing balls, wind chimes, spinners, plant picks, and more. We also proudly offer a range of hand picked statuary from Massarelli.

Included in our outdoor décor are fountains, bird baths, benches, fire pits, and more. These items include materials such as concrete, carved stone, ceramic and metal to add visual style and functionality to your outdoor space.

Through out the year, we continually update our merchandise to reflect the current season and holidays. In addition to themed décor, we also offer gifts appropriate for the holiday and geared towards plant and garden enthusiasts. In November, we open our pop-up Christmas shop, featuring ornaments, tree toppers, and tree skits.

To grow great plants, you need a good foundation and that starts with the soil or other planting medium. We have a range of premium soils, fertilizers, and amendments to give your indoor and outdoor plants everything they need to thrive. Need to raise or lower your soil pH, address drainage or moisture retention issues, or help offset the compacted clay commonly found in our area? We’ve got what you need to address all of these issues and more.

Soil, Compost, and Fertilizer

Mulch & stone increase the esthetic appeal of your landscape or garden while also maintaining proper soil temperatures and moisture levels. We carry bags of mulch that are dyed black or brown and we have options free from dyes in hardwood, cedar, and pine. Pest such as insects, fungus, and deer can destroy your garden or landscape. We carry a variety of products to help control or prevent such pests.

Pest and Disease Control

From gloves and hats to pruners, trowels, and landscaping fabric, we have all the tools and supplies needed to keep your garden or landscape in top shape. Not to be forgotten, we have the tools needed for your indoor plants as well, including trellis, repotting mats, grow pols, moisture meters, and more.

Gear, Tools, and Supplies

  • We deliver to Washington County and the surround areas. Delivery fees apply and are non-refundable once we leave our store. For bulk materials offered, click here. Bulk materials cannot be returned once delivered.

  • Our landscape team can plant any purchases made in store for you. Labor rates vary based on size and number of plantings. For larger projects, please consult our landscaping team. Quotes are free and can be requested by clicking here.

  • Bring your plants in and our expert staff can repot your mature plants into a new pot purchased in store or bring your own. Charges for labor and soil will apply.

  • We have a dedicated landscaping team ready to assist with your landscaping needs. We offer basic quotes and estimates for free at no-risk. However, extensive design or consultation work will be charged a fee commiserate to the time and effort involved to complete and will be communicated up front where needed. Services include spring/fall clean up, mulching and rock cleanup and installation, plantings, and installation of patios, pathways, decorative stone walls, and ponds.
